Is your estate ready to be passed down through the generations? Getting your affairs in order is less hectic with proven estate planning and probate law assistance from Norm Geer.

A very important part of our practice involves Estate Planning for clients. We believe that at a minimum every client should have a Will, Power of Attorney, Living Will and Health Care Power of Attorney. Other documents, as needed, include Living Trusts, Testamentary Trusts, Special Need Trusts and Trusts for individual special purposes. As with the personal injury, we employ experts, when needed, to give our clients better service in some of these specialized areas.

Estate Planning is designed to nominate a representative to give that executor the ability to pay debts timely and to distribute assets without controversy or delay according to the terms of the Will or the Ohio Statute of Descent and Distribution.

The health care documents are equally important and provide for health care decisions to be made by a selected agent when the subject is unable to make health care decisions.

The financial power of attorney allows the designated attorney-in-fact (commonly referred to as "POA'') access to finances to pay debts and to take other actions consistent with the best interests of the subject.

The importance of these advanced directives providing guidance to named parties cannot be overstated.

We also appear in the area Probate Courts for such matters as adoptions, estate proceedings, guardianships, name changes, will contests, land sales, disinterments and other matters for which the Probate Court has original and exclusive jurisdiction.
